Song Of The Soul … A Kirtan Podcast

Last week I got an inspired (literally) idea to put together a podcast about kirtan, and I’m rather in awe of how fast the whole thing is coming together.

My plan is to upload the songs from our Sunday satsang sessions as a podcast, and I’ll voice the weekly introduction.  The podcast can be listened to as background music, or as preparation for meditation.  The songs are also meant to be a a meditation in themselves if you follow the chant.  Personally, I use kirtan as a warm-up for voiceover.

The Website will contain general information about kirtan, the weekly set list and links to where you can buy CDs from the artists.  I’m thinking further down the line I’ll start interviewing the artists, and feature live kirtan events as podcast uploads.

I’ve heard from Ragani, Deva Premal and Miten, Dave Stringer, Jai Uttal, and Shantala.  I have a few more artists to contact, and the mechanics of Website creation and such, which won’t take long.  It’s just details at this point, as this has a Divine wind behind it.  It’s a labor of love, for Love.

And I do love me a new project!  More as it develops.
